Learn about who we are and how we can help
What are our values?
We Believe:
- Anyone can learn and acquire skills that can allow them to have more opportunities in life.
- Every individual has the right to be free of any problem behavior that will restrict their home and community life.
- Relying on the evidenced-based science of applied behavior analysis will produce the best possible outcomes.
- Development of communication skills and independent living skills are essential to living a more socially fulfilling and productive life.
- Ongoing assessment is key to individualizing the program to the learner’s needs.
- The parents are an integral part of the treatment team and are encouraged to be involved throughout each step of the process.
How did we start?
Our founder, Andrew Miller, is a board-certified behavior analyst who has worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings since 2001. He is a graduate of Elizabethtown College, Shippensburg University, and Penn State University.
Andrew has received years of training in applied behavior analysis and has provided mentorship/training/supervision for many aspiring to help individuals with developmental disabilities. Some of his interests include the application of B.F. Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior, development of joint attention, precision teaching, and generative learning.
Andrew is also a parent to a child with autism and knows first hand the challenges associated with having a child with a disability, as well as the rewards that can be attained through the use of applied behavior analysis.
From this experience, we have come to develop an empathetic approach to families that we serve with efforts to always portray respect and promote family involvement.
